WHO IS JOY EHIAGWINA PATRICK ?

A Visionary Leader with Purpose

Ehiagwina Joy Patrick is a visionary leader, serial entrepreneur, social impact leader, and cultural custodian whose influence spans business, governance, community development, and cultural preservation. She is widely recognised for her ability to combine corporate excellence with a deep commitment to people empowerment and meaningful social impact.

As the Group Managing Director of Patjeda Group of Companies Limited, Joy provides strategic leadership across a growing portfolio of businesses with interests in logistics, hospitality, executive transportation, security, oil and gas, and entertainment. Her leadership reflects a strong focus on building sustainable businesses while creating opportunities for people and communities.

Beyond corporate leadership, she serves as the Director of Enterprise Empowerment & Business Innovations on the Governing Board of the African Leadership and Capacity Association (AFLCA), where she contributes to initiatives focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership development, and economic empowerment across Africa.

Joy is equally passionate about social impact. She co-leads the Heart of Gold Support & Care Initiative (HOG), which is committed to improving the lives of underserved communities through education, empowerment, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through initiatives providing scholarships, school supplies, and start-up tools and support for artisans and entrepreneurs, HOG continues to create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive.

She holds a Master’s degree in Employment Relations & Human Resource Management from the University of Lagos, is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in International Business Management at the University of East London, and is also pursuing a PhD at the University of Lagos.

Through her work across business, leadership, social impact, and culture, Ehiagwina Joy Patrick continues to champion a model of leadership that is not only focused on building successful enterprises, but also on building people, communities, and lasting impact.

A Custodian of Culture

In recognition of her remarkable contributions to community and culture, Joy Ehiagwina was conferred the prestigious title of Erelu Yeyemeso of Ikoyi-Ekiti Land, a role of honor and responsibility bestowed by the traditional council.

As Erelu Yeyemeso, she embodies the values of service, dignity, and guardianship of tradition. This role is not ceremonial alone; it places her at the heart of community development, cultural preservation, and women’s empowerment. Joy actively champions initiatives that support women in leadership, strengthen intergenerational ties, and promote sustainable socio-economic growth within her community.

By blending her cultural duties with her entrepreneurial and corporate influence, she serves as a bridge between tradition and modern enterprise demonstrating that heritage and progress can thrive side by side.

Her investiture reflects the trust reposed in her as a woman of vision, influence, and compassion – one who carries both the legacy of her people and the responsibility of shaping a brighter future.

Heart of Gold Support & Care Initiative

The Heart of Gold Support & Care Initiative (HOG) is the heartbeat of Joy’s philanthropic work. Established to bridge gaps in education, skills, and community welfare, HOG is transforming lives through practical support and empowerment.

Alongside her husband, Joy co-founded the Heart of Gold Support & Care Initiative (HOG), a foundation committed to uplifting underprivileged children, artisans, women, and families through education, empowerment, and community development. Over the past decade, HOG and its partner initiatives have supported more than 3,000 indigent students through scholarships, school materials, and other educational interventions, while its flagship Back-to-School programme alone has supported over 1,280 children.
